Private Equity Three Stage Process
The target company’s leadership team is the most important predictor of an organization’s success and time to value. Yet, it’s an often overlooked and under-measured in the due diligence process or post acquisition. Our consistent, data driven approach helps investors understand the strengths and high-risk areas of leadership teams even before the deal is made.
Pre-Deal
In the first phase, we use highly validated, predictive psychometrics to assess each leader on the team. We synthesize the findings into a customized blueprint that sheds light on the team’s strengths, gaps, and potential derailers.
We then map the team blueprint to the goals of the portfolio company and provide an analysis and recommendations to accelerate the leadership team’s effectiveness, performance, and time to value.
Post-Deal
Because leadership alignment is critical for sustained high performance, we work in tandem with the investors and the portfolio company’s leadership team to build alignment on a shared vision, business goals and success measures.
We then use the team blueprint and individual leadership assessment results to help the team gain insights about their strengths and gaps and develop a plan to maximize their effectiveness and performance.
In this phase, we help each leader on the team amplify their individual leadership capabilities and increase their ability to drive the asset company’s success.
Using our comprehensive leadership assessment as the foundation, each leader works one-to-one with an executive coach to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP), take action on the plan, apply the learning, and build their skills with the support, reinforcement, and accountability provided by the coach.
